This year PROWESS created four new awards for
Outstanding Contribution to Women's Enterprise Development in the UK.
These were presented at the conference to:

Support Professional of the Year: Sandy Richardson, Business Link Tees
Valley
Outstanding
Contribution to Women's Enterprise Development: Dinah Bennett, Women
Into the Network (WIN), Durham Business School
Innovator
Award: Asian-e Foundation
Business
Link Award: Business Link Wessex
The
winners were recognised for their success and dynamics in promoting
and supporting women business owners. PROWESS was overwhelmed by the
number and quality of nominations, indicating the huge amount taking
place throughout the UK to encourage more women into enterprise.
The
judging panel included:
Isabella Moore, first ever Woman President of the British Chambers of
Commerce; Steve Michell, Head of the Small Business Service Women's
Enterprise Unit; Tracy Betts from Community Development Banking at the
Royal Bank of Scotland and Natwest and Mumtaz Bashir, Director of Manchester
Employer Coalition.
