Achieving Flagship – Process

Step 1:  Join Prowess

Membership links you into a national alliance comitted to helping women start and grow businesses and to ongoing organisational development. For details of membership see: http://www.prowess.org.uk/new/about/apply.htm

Step 2: Self-assessment questionnaire
Request your free self-assessment pack* from Jo Makepeace - flagship@prowess.org.uk or
01603 762355.  Complete the straightforward self-assessment form detailing your organisation’s services and support. Some organisations find this a useful strategic planning tool in itself.

* Self assessment packs are available for 3 sets of Standards:  Start-up Support; Established Business Support; Women’s Business Networks.

Step 3: Initial Prowess evaluation report
An Assessor will go through your self-assessment form and provide a comprehensive report that pin-points where your organisation is in the relation to the Flagship standards and where some development is needed. The agreed report will be presented to the Independent Flagship Accreditation Panel.

Step 4: On-site visit
Verification  An Assessor will arrange a mutually convenient day to visit. You have the opportunity to provide evidence of your services in order for them to verify the self assessment document. Allow one day for this (if more than 1 day is necessary an extra charge will be made but is only likely to apply to large multi-site delivery organisations).

Commitment to Flagship  If you are not ready for full verification you may choose to make a 'Commitment To Flagship'. The verification visit is carried out and you prepare an Action Plan for the areas where further evidence or action is needed to achieve full accreditation within 12 months.

Step 5: Flagship Accreditation awarded The Assessor will make a recommendation to the Independent Accreditation Panel and the Panel will make the final decision to award Flagship.  Organisations achieving Flagship will be able to use the Flagship Quality Mark in their materials and will be highlighted on the Prowess website and publicity materials.  The Award will be presented at the Annual  Awards Ceremony and Gala Dinner.  To ensure you are able to maximise publicity we will assist you with template press releases, photos of the ceremony and PR support.
